Vinyasa

These classes maintain awareness and focus on the breath while moving through a series of postures. The sequence of postures vary from class to class, but always follow an intelligent progression that moves from basic to complex. This style of yoga builds  flexibility and strength, while maintaining focus on proper alignment and sound structure. Postures will flow together to unite the body to the breath and mind.

Flow and restore

In this open-level candlelit vinyasa and restorative class, be prepared to work a little and relax a lot, balancing movement with rest. The first half of class will be breath-based vinyasa, dynamic and designed to cultivate inner heat, with the option to meet challenges gently and playfully (and the option to skip these challenges and rest). In the second half of class, we'll wind down sweetly, using plenty of props to facilitate deep relaxation and release in restorative postures. For this restorative portion of class, we'll explore our inner body worlds, following our breath and sensing the information present in the tissues of our bodies, a somatic meditation free of judgement and expectation. Students leave feeling profoundly relaxed and renewed.

gentle yoga

This class is for students seeking a more gentle approach to yoga. Be it for relaxation or due to a physical condition this practice is will be slower paced yet still build flexibility and strength. We will focus on the breath (pranayama) warm up, stretching, poses (asanas) and an extended relaxation at the close of class. Our intention is to create a safe comfortable spiritual environment accessible to all.

community yoga

Come explore the yoga varietals offered by this eclectic group of movers and shakers. Every week offers a new approach to the practice of yoga, taught by instructors on a rotating schedule. Come with an open heart and mind, ready to move your body and expand your breath. Our priority is that of community - to share and learn together. We offer a restoring pause from the daily grind through movement across the full spectrum of possibility - from sweat inducing vinyasa to calming heart centering breathwork. Each class is offered on a donation-based principle, so offer what you want and spread the word!

bhakti yoga

This is an all levels class designed to inspire a deeper relationship to Spirit. We begin with call and response chanting, followed by a slow, mindful movement practice with an emphasis on breath awareness. Each class ends with a brief guided meditation and chanting.

Feminine Embodied YOga

Many women devote so much of their time to caring for others while neglecting their own needs. Even in our yoga practice we often try to adapt our bodies to an outer form instead of modifying poses to benefit our own inner journey.
In this empowering practice specifically for women's unique bodies, each class will include breath work, strengthening poses, restorative stretches, and calming meditation designed to nourish the feminine spirit and create community.  You are encouraged to tune in to your body and trust your own experience.
