This is a guided meditation class following traditional Indian teachings of Kundalini Yoga and in particular the Siddha Yoga tradition.
( The objective of this type of Yoga is to transform the Yogi into a Siddha- or enlightened person- within their lifetime). The class consists of didactic teaching from Hindu and Yogic texts such as Vijnana Bhairava, the Upanishads etc that allow the student to understand the nature of Self, breath, chakras, mudras and the nature of Truth. The knowledge will be used to then have the student "experience" higher states of awareness and transcendency themselves. The class is free of religious dogma but terms used are in Sanskrit and follow Indian teaching. No prior experience with meditation is required.
Milind Dhond has studied Kundalini Yoga under Swami Radhikananda from the SIddha Yoga Ashram in Pune India for the last 15 years.
He has authored Journey to Zero
(an interpretation of Vijnana Bhairava- a yoga text on meditation techniques and Elixir of Mystical Experience- an interpretation of Saint Jnaneshwars text Amrutanubhava- examining the nature of consciousness, and the experience of truth)
He travels and teaches meditation workshops. He is a cardiologist at Northbay Hospital in Fairfield, Professor of Medicine at UC Davis and a sixth degree blackbelt and Professor of Jujitsu. He resides in Davis with his 3 children.
